Event Description: The NYC Uke Squad invites all interested ukulele players and singalong singers to join in our Ukulele Jam and Singalong at the Greenpoint Library. All ages and levels are welcome. You do not have to play ukulele to attend -- sing along or join us to listen!
BYO ukulele if you want to play. BYO music stand if you need one. Please plan to supervise any children attending with you.
If desired, the first 30-40 minutes we will focus on songs especially appropriate for beginner-level players, and difficulty may increase after that point, depending on who is in attendance.
We will play songs from our Library Jams 2024 songbook. Find it here to download. You may print it or plan to read it on a phone/tablet. https://tinyurl.com/ukejam2024 Hard copies will not be available at the event, as we charge no fees and have no budget for printing. :)
The NYC Uke Squad was created by local musician and teacher Jenny Selig, joined by a group of ukulele teacher Cynthia Lin's online students, to bring Cynthia's Aloha spirit and uke-love to the NYC area. Cynthia's YouTube channel hosts dozens of free lessons for ukulele players.
For more information on the Squad click here. Ukulele players in the area are welcome to join our group on Facebook.
