Join the NYC Uke Squad in-person in September (Manhattan)

Hi, uke friends! On September 9, 2024 the NYC Uke Squad, the casual ukulele jam group Cynthia and I cofounded here in New York City, will get together in person to jam and sing near Washington Square Park, in Manhattan!

It's been a while since we've had an indoor space in Manhattan -- I don't think we've been able to do this since the covid outbreak in 2020. To say I'm looking forward to it would be an understatement! :)

Anyone is welcome to join us (BYOuke):

Monday, Sept. 9th
6-7:30 pm
Judson Memorial Church Garden Room**
239 Thompson St.

Near Washington Square Park and numerous subway lines
** See map below but please ring bell and enter through the office at 239 Thompson, not 241.

Songbook: Cynthia lin's free Uke Social songbook was suggested by a squad member. Download it here: https://cynthialin.gumroad.com/l/ibVUd

No need to pay or enter credit card info. Just enter "0" when you are asked for the price (Cynthia encourages this). You can print it out or bring it on a tablet, phone, or other device.

Folks are also always welcome to bring a handful of printed copies of a song you'd like to suggest on the day-of (especially if you're willing to lead it if I don't know it). We can usually share copies if we need to, to make it work!

Free and open to the public! This valuable space rental is being donated free to us by Judson, but if you’d like to bring a cash or check donation for their social justice work, arts support, and building maintenance I will pass it on to the church. Or you can contribute online here.

Let me know in the comments if you plan to attend, so I can get an idea of numbers.

The NYC Uke Squad was created by local musician and teacher Jenny Selig, joined by a group of ukulele teacher Cynthia Lin's online students, to bring Cynthia's Aloha spirit and uke-love to the NYC area. Cynthia's YouTube channel hosts dozens of free lessons for ukulele players.
