(Public Post)
Hi, uke friends! This week the NYC Uke Squad, the casual ukulele jam group Cynthia and I cofounded here in New York City, will get together in person to jam and sing near Washington Square Park, in Manhattan!
Anyone is welcome to join us (BYOuke):
Saturday, Oct. 19th
11am-12:30pm
Judson Memorial Church downstairs Assembly Hall** space
239 Thompson St.
Near Washington Square Park and numerous subway lines
** See map below -- please ring bell and enter at 239 Thompson. There is an elevator, or it is one flight down, straight ahead.
Songbook: For this month's jam, NYC Uke Squad members made requests, and I created a new songbook with those and a few extra songs thrown in. Download it for free by clicking the link at the bottom of this free, public Patreon post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/join-nyc-uke-in-113916257
Folks are also always welcome to bring a handful of printed copies of a song you'd like to suggest on the day-of (especially if you're willing to lead it if I don't know it). We can usually share copies if we need to, to make it work!
We try very hard to keep our jams free and open to the public! This valuable space rental is being donated free to us by Judson, but if you’d like to bring a cash or check donation for their social justice work, arts support, and building maintenance I will pass it on to the church. Or you can contribute online here.
Let me know in the comments if you plan to attend, so I can get an idea of numbers.

The NYC Uke Squad was created by local musician and teacher Jenny Selig, joined by a group of ukulele teacher Cynthia Lin's online students, to bring Cynthia's Aloha spirit and uke-love to the NYC area. Cynthia's YouTube channel hosts dozens of free lessons for ukulele players.
